Stupid Amtrak!

Not having a car, I end up depending on Amtrak to get around more than I would like.
I want to like Amtrak... but they are so annoying and unreliable. On average, the trains I take run from 10 minutes to an hour late. I am always shocked when a train is running on time. Of course, I put up with it because the other methods (say, Bolt Bus?) are ( Read more... )

It's actually for the week after that. Going down to Argyle to play for the morning classes. How to get down to Alexandria from Baltimore on Saturday morning by 9am? Oh, if only I had a reference librarian around! Certainly such a person would know how to find this information!

If the drive isn't too long, renting a Zipcar might work. DJ and I have resigned ourselves to the fact that we won't get a car until one of us has a (non-grad student) job. Even though renting a car for $7/hour can add up, it's worth it for us since insurance, gas, etc., is included.
