jorge had one of his crews out late the other night (like 11:30pm) and they were in a terrible car accident. one of his workers passed away and another is in the ICU at a hospital an hour away- close to the job sight

FWIW, I think your instincts are so much better here than the lawyer/company's. I was just talking with my mom about something awfully similar yesterday, and I really do think it would be appropriate to send some kind of written condolences/gift/food, but not to have personal contact. I hope they reconsider. You heart is so big, Patience. I'm sorry it's hurting right now.

How horrible. I'm so sorry that you guys are kind of stuck in the middle of this. I would kill me not to be able to help the family of the man that was killed. I'm glad to hear that Jorge is okay though. :(
