I'd say your concerns are justified. And hell, this is a repeating pattern in just about every field ever. Men dominate and women have to struggle for acceptance. You're a pioneer girl, kick some ass.

I want to play one of your games.

In actuality, I saw it the other way around... almost like a plea for women to enter the industry. I remember hearing it and thinking that it would probably make you and Liz happy, but later found out it had the opposite effect.

*Shrug* Maybe it's just me, but when people feel very passionately about a cause, they tend to see actions against that cause almost everywhere. It's the same thing with Sheri Ray, that she feels that most people don't understand her and cause all these issues, etc.

I'm stricken with a bit of male ignorance here - I didn't think to look at the presentation from the standpoint of a woman. I don't remember what might have been said to raise the issue either way. It's unfortunate that every step you take in the industry is going against the current, and I wish it weren't so, but you've got to fight the good fight. The people who oppose you strictly based on gender and the obstacles you must face will just make your success in the industry that much greater of an accomplishment when it happens.

What did the Activision people say that caught your attention?

There were alot of things said about girls don't play games, but it wasn't nessicarily what was said it was the way it was said. Staring at two girls that are in the audience saying girls don't play games with an underlying tone of disgust at any girl who even tries. The "He's looking for a girlfriend" comment was uncalled for. And then there was the "Oh we have girls in our studio in audio" comment, which I think was what pushed me overboard. And it wasn't just me that was offended but I have talked to other girls in the audience who felt the same way (and yes, this does include other girls from Liz). Thank you for your words of encouragement, it really does mean alot and I don't think anyone would expect you to look at a presentation like that through the eyes of woman.
I have decided to sit on this until Monday and if I am still upset then I will send it.
See you Monday @ 12, don't forget to bring the Red Bull :)

Ack, the month's over already, isn't it! *sigh*

I'd like to think I could manage to do some sort of presentation with a good amount of energy and without the aid of Redbull. I have it in me... probably. There is an inner spark that drives me. "I can do anything!" and all that jazz...

I'll buy two. Just in case. See ya there.
