Boot Camp reminds me that I have an ass.

First off, I am impressed with this protein shake I just made half ass to quell my growling stomach. My thoughts on making it, as my tweet followers already know, were "this really doesn't look that gross"... (stirring, picking up spoon)... If you're trying to build muscle as well as lose weight, working out every day is actually detrimental. (Or at least working the same muscle groups every day is... if you're working upper body one day and lower the next I think that's fine.) The muscle building actually happens when your muscles rebuild what you're tearing when you work out, which takes at least 24 to 48 hours. If the tearing apart happens every day, there's no time for rebuilding. Maybe ask your boot camp instructor what they advise? Or maybe the circuit training class is flexible enough so that you can focus on different muscle groups than the ones you worked on at boot camp?

I understand the concept of muscle building. The only thing is that you need to wear each muscle group out for it to be rebuilt first. Boot camp, because it focuses on cardio and a lot of muscle work w/ cardio, doesn't always get me working out my muscles properly. So there will likely be days when I hit my legs really good but not my arms. Circuit training will definitely be more a focus on getting every muscle. So what I'd like to do is focus circuit training on hitting the muscles I missed during boot camp the day before. Hopefully I will know.

good luck. Starting a workout plan is one of the hardest things in the world. The results hardly ever seem worth the effort.
