Personality:
Nepeta is a troll. Literally. She comes from the planet of Alternia, which is inhabited by a fairly ruthless species of alien known as trolls. Now that that's out of the way, I can say that Nepeta is easily one of the more good natured ones. Nepeta is, for the most part, very friendly. She gets along well and is on pretty good terms with the rest of the trolls shown in Homestuck, and it's definitely not difficult for her to talk to others. She likes being able to do so! For example, one of her best friends - her moirail, which is basically a very close friendship where the trolls take care of each other and keep each other in line - is fairly bossy and no one's exactly sure why she bothers with him. So yeah, she's just really friendly and playful.
Something important to note that sort of goes with everything above is that the hemospectrum - a caste system based on the color of a troll's blood - doesn't mean much of anything to Nepeta. She doesn't really care about what color someone's blood is, and the whole caste system just seems kinda dumb to her. She doesn't even know what the colors are supposed to mean in the first place, so she doesn't completely understand or care that having green blood places her in the middle caste when it comes to the whole blood color things. She thinks that it shouldn't mean anything to anyone else, too, since it doesn't mean much of anything to her.
Nepeta is also fairly naive about a lot of things, and seems to act like a kid that was brought up living in the wild. She spends her time hunting animals and roleplaying (more on that second one in a bit), and her home appears to be a cave filled with cave drawings that she's done herself with blood and soot. She doesn't kill for fun when she does, though. She only kills for food! She tells her friend that in a conversation with him when he said doing such a thing with distasteful. She even spent her free time going around and searching for the Fountain of Cute with her custodian before the beginning of the game. It's can also be pretty easy to confuse or surprise her, although she handles her surprises and confusion pretty well and tends to just roll with it whenever it happens. She's still pretty smart though!
Despite her usual demeanor though, she's does have her moments where she gets irritated and upset over things, although those moods usually don't stick around for long.
She is also a roleplayer - every conversation she has seems to start off with her roleplaying as a cat, and she's generally pretty playful about it! Nepeta really likes it when her friends join in, even if not all of them are completely sincere and pretty grumpy about it. The only kind of roleplaying she actually engages in is the friendly kind though, since her moirail doesn't want her to do the dangerous kind. It's a good thing he told her not to, too, since the kind of roleplaying she would've taken part in was dangerous, and a lot of her friends had ended up getting hurt over it. Anyway! Nepeta really does enjoy roleplaying, and it's one of her favorite things to do.
When speaking, Nepeta tends to replace parts of words with feline based things when she can, assuming it's close enough-- for example, pretend would become purrtend and pause would become pawses. She also has a shipping wall in her cave-room, and it depicts all the relationships possible between her and her friends that fall on the good side of everything. She changes it when things happen, and sometimes she writes comments about what she thinks of the various pairings among the twelve trolls.
Abilities: Nepeta is a skilled fighter! She spends a lot of time hunting animals and eating them, and because of this, she has a lot of experience with using her claw gloves. It's said that she often kills the beasts with both her claw gloves and her teeth, so... yeah, she's just a good fighter in general.
