Next time when you try not to think of something it's best to find a way to distract yourself, and if at all possible, don't think I am trying very hard not to think of that thing that I don't want to think about by doing this because that will make it worse. You've got to literally do something that's distracting in every sense of the word.

If it's the sort of thoughts that I don't want to think about you having ever that you need to stop, it might be better to conjure up some horrific image instead. Something that will not make anything sound appealing to you any time soon.

Though trying to hide embarrassing thoughts from someone who can hear them may be more difficult than trying not to think of them at all.

Geeze, why is it no one seems to think I should be thinking about sex? It's just sex! Everybody thinks about it and everybody has it (well, mostly, once they grow up, anyway), so why SHOULDN'T I think about it?

You can think about it all you want. I don't care. You're a teenage girl after all. I just really don't want to know or acknowledge that you think about it if it's all the same to you.

It's like thinking about puppies thinking and wanting to have sex. It does not compute.
