Okay, here is my more elaborate answer: Clearly South Dakota had to lift the ban. Banning abortion is breaking the law and ignoring a monumental Supreme Court decision. Had they voted to keep the ban it would have been stricken down eventually anyway. It saddens me to no end that people see that justice needs to be done in the case of upholding the law but don't see that it is an injustice to bar people from getting married. Basically, what it comes down to is that it hurts me to know that there are enough people who think that my lifestyle is so wrong that it warrents a state-wide ban on me marrying someone I love. Luckily I do happen to be a resident of Gayachusetts and I can get married whenever the damn I want to.
i am so pissed at california for not being the first to rec. gay marriage (besides hawaii) and not being the first to have a universal health plan, DAMN you Mass!
Ha ha. I bet you're mad. At least with my home state of New Hampshire I never entertained hopes that they would be more liberal than Massachusetts. Although a bitter republican who got ousted by a democratic candidate this week did call New Hampshire "North Massachusetts." Ha ha. Hilarious. NH will never be "North Massachusetts" because we love guns too much.
