Siwon loved his midnight walks, the eerie still calm that the dark brought with it. Breathing in deeply to savour that addictive tang of cold still air, he smiled as the smell of night filled his nostrils, a heady rush of atmosphere leaking into his mind and delighting his senses.
The quiet was just so intoxicating, shrouding him in a thick blanket of silent sensation, cloaking him along with the darkness, his footsteps sounding out muffled against the pavement as he walked. He felt free, the solitude giving him free reign to really delve into the depths of his psyche, fascinated by what he found.
So ultimately relaxing, despite all the horror stories, even the scenery took on a whole new life at night, a darker more striking beauty as the buildings stood out against a subtler backdrop and he wondered how many people truly appreciated the hidden arty depths.
The streetlights cast pools of light across his path, lengthening his shadow into a cruel knarled distortion, elongated and frightening as he passed under the illuminations.
Quiet sounds of footsteps not his own echoing out of the gloom and he quickened his pace for whatever could be hiding in the usually familiar layer of darkness. It was getting closer, and he could hear breaths now, slightly hurried sounding as he lightened his footfalls to attempt to hide his presence.
But the silhouette was looming into sight now and he pounced, hand clamping over a mouth, cutting off the scream that pierced his focused consciousness, holding the smaller body close as the knife bit into a slender neck, warm liquid gurgling out over his hand as he revelled in the ultimate rush of a perfect midnight walk.
