You know you've never been a very good boyfriend. A stranger to romance and big overt expressons of undying affection when comfortable intimacy in his opinion was a much truer indication of meaningful closeness.
Happy to let Eunhyuk dictate their plans, pleased to do anything and everything that your boyfriend wanted. Blasé almost on the surface, cold and unfeeling to many an outside observer.
So it didn't come as the greatest shock when Eunhyuk rings one day to say he's had enough, that you aren't loving enough, weren't invested in the relationship, that it is killing him to love you and not be loved back.
And you say no, that's not true. You do love him, really you do, just not so blatantly as on all those tv shows he's so fond of, give me another chance. Please?
You hear him pause, even this short declaration an oddity with your reserved nature and he replies, 'Fine, prove it then,' stating a time and place to meet him if you truely mean what you say, a gesture of your devotion to him, that you are more serious, he's giving you a free way out here, an end with no mess and you can just go your seperate ways.
But you don't want an out.
You're desperate to not be late, not this time, focused on being the one standing there waiting as Eunhyuk appoached, instead of the other way around as it had always been but you've forgotten your coat in your haste and no time to go back and fetch it, absolutey nothing in the world more important now than getting the on time.
It's perfect, the meeting place, all exotic coloured flowers and ridiculous green leaves, right out of some sappy drama, just waiting for a tearful reunion with spluttered apologies, forgiving kisses and desperate embraces and desite yourself, despite your cynical pessimistic nature you kind of want just that, to know you'll be ok, that you could fix this.
Snow is begining to fall, soft and serene and equally poignant. You shiver slightly at the chill, your clothes ineffectual againt the falling flakes quietly landing on your shoulders, in your hair, dampening your clothes to lower your temperature further, but it is irrelevant, all that matters is that you're here.
You hadn't realised you've been crying, the icy weather freezing the moist trails on your face as you tentively reach a hand up to feel your chilly face and it hurts when you realise how scared you are that he won't come, the thought never occuring to you before.
You wonder if it's a cruel prank, one last act of spiteful revenge for not wearing your heart on your sleeve as was expected, because it's been hours now and he's still not here, but still you wait, determined to pass this test, to prove you will wait for him no matter the cost.
You don't hear the broken shout of your name, a distant figure running desperately towards you. Don't feel the hands desperately clutching at your numb body heavily slumping into the soft mounds you hadn't noticed had got so big, as the world fades to a white more blinding than snow could ever be, dazzling in it's beauty as you welcome the blissful silence.

Written when I was having a bit of a down eening the other day, so sorry, another not so happy one after such a long stint without posting, hopefully I can get back into the flow of writing soon ^_^
