Mal stared longingly up at the sky. He had found his way up to the roof. The green was startling, similar to the conservatory downstairs. He had taken to smelling the different flowers and even the grass, just to smell it. Green was something very new to him.
Then, he lay down in a patch of grass and just looked up at the sky. He lay there until the sun went down, and he was staring at stars.
