Just got me thinking about men's sextoys, though - it seems like men's toys are also more easily associated with "deviant" sexuality, while women's toys generally do more to simulate heterosexual sex, so are less threatening (to both men and women). For example - butt plugs ("does that make me gay?") and cock rings (somewhat linked to S&M) are much more of a threat to the traditional idea of what heterosexual sex is supposed to be than, say, a dildo or a vibrator... even though guys can only -dream- they could move their tongue that fast! :)
Not to say that prostitutes and Real Dolls aren't misogynistic. But it may be more than just the "conquering" aspect that drives men in that direction - I think they're also scared of trying something that pushes the boundaries of vanilla sex. Which a lot of women are too - it's just that women's sex toys are generally vanilla enough to attract a larger market.
