1. Where is my character?
Your character is in Plethora, a world split in half by war. Now it has become two nations, Heaven and Hell. Each nation is home to its respective race. Heaven is ruled by the Angels, and Hell is ruled by the Demons. Though both sides have some basic technology, most of it is primitive. However, if your character can somehow manage to find the supplies, they are welcome to build or invent whatever they need.
2. Wait, just how much technology is available? Will my character have to light candles every time they enter the room? Is there running water?
Actually, the lighting system in Plethora doesn't run off of electricity. Your character will find that when they walk into a room, small orbs of light floating in the air will fade in and out of the preferred brightness according to the character's subconscious, illuminating the room as needed. It's actually really handy, no developed thought required~
For electricity in general, Plethora comes as is. It has as much technology as an uncharted island would, but it is open for development. If it can be made out of tree branches, rock, and tiny bits of metal found in the mountains, then they are free to be creative. If your character needs more materials to make whatever it is they have in mind, then poke a mod for permission to find it in a shop or something.
As for running water, yes there is. Strangely, though, sinks and such will not have any pipes behind it. You could take everything apart and you wouldn't find anything of the sort. If your character has some urge to explore that area, it will seem that water just comes out of thin air, similar to the lighting systems.
3. What kind of animals are found in Plethora?
The animal life ranges from mice to mountain lions. There are bears, deer, rabbits, birds, boar, pigs, and whatever else you might find in the provided environment.
4. Why has my character ended up in Plethora?
After centuries of war, the population on both sides has finally begun running low, and what happens when you run out of something? You get more. Your character has been brought here against their will to aid in the battle.
5. How many characters am I allowed in Plethora?
Currently, you may only have a maximum of 5 characters, and only 2 characters from each fandom. (character limit may rise as we get more players.)
6. Can my character leave?
The simple answer is no, they can’t. If your character tries to go anywhere past the mountains, they will mysteriously find themselves back in the settlement on their side of the divide.
7. Can my character die?
Yes. But keep in mind that there will be consequences for dying. Remember, this might be a war, but that doesn’t mean we want people dying constantly. The whole point is to win the battle AND survive.
8. What happens if my character dies?
If you choose to have your character die, then he/she will randomly lose something. That something could be anything from an unimportant item to your characters sight, or memories. It all depends on the severity of the death, and how many times your character has already died. If wish to kill off your character, then please contact one of the mods. We just want to be sure that what’s taken equals the death.
9. Are Original Characters allowed?
No. In all honesty, we think OC’s are fine, but we just don’t want them here. OC’s can sometimes cause chaos, and we don’t want that happening because it can ruin a game.
10. Are AU characters allowed?
No. We’d rather keep all characters canon. However, canon AU characters such as Leon from Kingdom Hearts are perfectly fine.
11. Will my characters abilities and powers be weakened in Plethora?
Yes. Your character will not understand why though, and at this time, we do not want to reveal too much. That would spoil the story.
12. What happens if my character already has wings?
In that case, your characters current wings will disappear and be replaced by the wings of their chosen side.
13. What if my character is already an Angel/Demon?
That won’t matter. They will still be given the same choices as everyone else, and will have to choose a side. If your character is an Angel, they can still choose the side of Demons. The same goes for the opposite.
(NOTE: 14 - 18 refer to this Roleplay's NPC's, and in no way affects your characters behavior or personality.)
14. Just how much do the Angels and Demons hate each other?
Say your one of the original inhabitants. Did your Angel sister get sick? It's because of the germs carried over from the Demons in the wind. Did your Demon brother trip over his own feet and break his arm? It's because the Angels had altered the land thousands of years ago, making the ground unsafe to walk on. Did your grandmother die of a heart attack? It's because the healers that could have saved her were killed by the others. Anything that goes wrong somehow makes its way back to the other nation. That spawns a lot of hate, and everyone living here before your character's arrival honestly believes it. Even the most passive, non-violent of Angels would kill a Demon on sight and vise versa.
15. Is there any kind of discrimination besides that whole Angels and Demons thing?
Nah, people are very friendly and peaceful towards each other. All that hate is reserved for war.
16. Um, my character is super-violent and hates everyone. How would the random NPC fellow Angel/Demon respond to him if he were to curse them off, attack them, or something along those lines?
Believe it or not, that victim Angel/Demon would forgive them and say it was brought on by the hatred of the Demons/Angels (whoever your character isn't) or something like that and conveniently forget it ever happened. They're impossible like that, so feel free to do whatever it is that your character wants to them. That's how they'll respond, though, and they don't fight back (it's reserved for the others.)
17. What do the Angels look like?
When your character arrives in Plethora, all of the Angels will basically look the same with very few differences. All will have long blonde hair, bright blue eyes, white wings, and they will all be dressed in beautiful majestic armor. In short, they will most likely be the most beautiful beings your character has ever seen. A sword will be at each of their sides, after all, this is a war.
18. What do the Demons look like?
The Demons have a more sensual beauty to them, but it is a beauty that equals even the Angels. Long black hair, and enchanting red eyes. Their beautiful features are complimented by their lack of armor. Instead their outfit is mainly made up of animal skins and cloth. Claws and fangs are noticeable on each of them, but they do not look frightening. Only beautiful.
What happens if my character crosses the river?
Both Demons and Angels have laws that require them to kill the opposite on sight. Though crossing the river may not be an overly difficult task, they are committing suicide by doing so. At least, that is what they were told upon arrival. At this point, if your character is planning to cross the river, we ask that you please poke a mod about it so we can discuss consequences~
What if my character sees a member of the opposite party, but does not try to kill them?
That would be bad. People who don't even try, and aren't killed by the person they saw, have made a habit of dying shortly after. Here in Plethora it's either kill or be killed...or so our characters will be told upon arrival. But if no one is around to see, who would know the difference? If that's what you're planning, again, contact a mod. ^_~
Why do we need to tell a mod about these things?
It has to do with the story. We mods are a secretive bunch ^_^. Don't worry, though, your characters will still be able to act on their own and carry about their daring business, we just want to know who is doing it at first so we are able to keep an eye on it and set some things into motion. It's a temporary rule and will not last long, depending on how many people try.
