He's still asleep when he hears it. It's a soft sort of noise, not quite like crying and in the midst of waking up, he wonders if it's a bird. Maybe there's a bird outside that's been hurt and it's sitting in the sand, calling quietly for someone to help it. "Hi," she murmurs, smiling sheepishly, shifting restlessly on her bare feet.

He suspects it's not. They've been in the hut long enough that he's adjusted to sleeping in his own bed, but there's still a sort of comfort in having Stacy right next door to him. There's a comfort in knowing she still wanders into his room now and then.
