Well, America, I hate to rain on our parade, but I feel the need to add a little sobriety to the jubilation.  In the wake of the Obama/hope/yes-we-can/Jesse-Jackson-crying-tears-of-joy positivity, we need to remember one side-effect of this historically monumental election: we have chosen the least funny president since Jimmy Carter.

I often find myself trapped by the questions and thinking to myself, 'You know, this is a stupid question, but let me … answer it.' Instead of being appropriately [the tape is garbled]. So when Brian Williams is asking me about what's a personal thing that you've done [that's green], and I say, you know, 'Well, I planted a bunch of trees.' And he says, 'I'm talking about personal.' What I'm thinking in my head is, 'Well, the truth is, Brian, we can't solve global warming because I f---ing changed light bulbs in my house. It's because of something collective'."

You know, we spend so much time in comedy making fun of whichever president is in office that it never really occurred to me that the president might be able to be the comic.

The other factor is that most politicians are too worried about their political image to be funny. I'm used to politicians losing presidential races before they loosen up enough to crack a good joke.
