When I first move to the lower mainland back in the 80s, I hadn't a friend to my name in my new location. My folks had let me move back in with them to give me a chance to get back on my feet, and Dad took a copy of my resume in to the office to see if he could at least get me some summer work at the Railway. Aging really is a strange thing. We gain perspective, look back, and wonder on the past. Then we wish we'd done things differently, even if just to appreciate something, or someone, more. We didn't know. It takes time to gain the experience to understand. Sometimes it's an enlightening feeling. Other times, it feels a bit melancholy to reflect like that. Perhaps it can be both? I say this as we communicate via a means that was popular 20 years ago. Time moves forward, and we just want to hold onto the good pieces along the way. LJ is like that.
