In my lab taught by a graduate assistant she made an unintentional reference that was offensive. she compared the nostrals of africans to those of a gorilla. would you be offended by this?

I understand why this would be offensive, and I don't think that a gorilla would be a very good comparison at all.

But I also understand her point. The nostrils of Africans do tend to be quite large.

Things like this I chock up to ignorance rather than be personally offended by it.

I wasn't personally offended but I thought her choice of words were off.

Reading that, I had a snort-of-disbelief. I'm not personally offended, but I do think it's a rather inappropriate thing to say.
