Do people not have any etiquette at all anymore? I am in a local coffee shop, reading for class, and a young woman keeps getting texts on her cell phone. Her alert is ridiculously loud and annoying. Why not put it on vibrate? It goes off every 30 seconds, and it is apparent that everyone in here is either studying or reading...I turned my phone

She could put it on vibrate, but then how else would everyone in the coffee shop know that she's really, really, REALLY important and popular?

She was overly homely too. So maybe she had a complex. I think a few times she would mutter to herself..
