And I am so glad that it comes over as wistful - that is how it felt when I wrote it.

I find myself wondering, now, if I was influenced by Melannen... it really didn't occur to me at the time - but there are similarities - apologies for any unintended echoes here!

He reminded me of Melannen, especially in the next part! But dead Melannen really is dead, and live Melannen is alive, so he's very different in that respect.

This story (all of your Returnverse stories, in fact) has got me itching to get back to Winter Magic, but I have another Draco challenge to finish first, and my plot_wout_porn story, which is going to be very late, but I know that quinara won't shout...
