Wow! This is wonderful so far. I've always wanted to know more about Giles's Watcher days before Buffy.

Hmm, very interested to see where this goes! It's interesting to see some more of that Giles backstory - there's such a huge gap between Eyghon and Sunnydale. And I'm all excited to find out who the surprise mystery guest is!

Yes, it's that gap that interests me - not just the time, but the obvious change in Giles from wildly irresponsible to utterly uptight. So, here's part of my explanation.

This is very cool, and you capture young Rupert admirably. Giles, of course, is riding for a fall. >:)

I'm always interested in fic that gives us a back story. I love the younger Giles in this. It's gratifying to see that even though he had to stake the slayer-vampire he was still upset about it, puking his guts out, not at all like that pompous Travers.

This is even more poignant considering how Giles has a part to play in the Cruciamentum, with Buffy, in the future.

Looking forward to the next parts.

I see Giles at this time thinking like a Watcher but not feeling like one - so he does what's 'right', but then reacts badly.

The more I think about the Cruciamentum, the more I'm sure Slayers were turned during it. Surely, if you have a master vampire and it gets free, it will want to cause maximum trouble. And a turned Slayer is bad news.

Hope you enjoy the rest - much more of Giles' background to come.
