Ohhhh. Heartbreaking line. What a wonderful piece of backstory behind that hitch in Giles' voice in Fool For Love, when he explains why Watchers don't generally record their Slayers' last battles.

This is really fun! The world needs files Back-story too. And nice almost cameo from Spike!

I totally agree - Giles has this huge hole in his backstory of about twenty years between Ripper and Sunnydale. There needs to be lots more Giles.

Glad you caught Spike in passing! The mystery guest has now been revealed - did you guess right?

I couldn't find a scene together in the more obvious episodes, like Angel - so I'm hoping I didn't stomp all over some glancing reference in canon!
