I don't know if either of these would be good for the person I mentioned before? I can send him the descriptions though and he can write to you if so. First question is of course, can the work be done remotely? If not, then neeeeeevermiiiind.

No, these are very much hands-on in person jobs.

I'm the wrong kind of techie for you, sorry :(
But man I would kill to make $45k a year. Silly me and my non-profit job.

And I would love to have you working under me ;)
The first job is still non-profit, but alas, I need a computer nerd.

I forwarded this on to a friend. I'd imagine that he'd reference me if he contacts you. His name is Paul.

I almost wish I was a tech, that doesn't sound like a bad gig.

Just how basic is the dupont circle one? I don't currently know anything about MS small business server, but I learn fast (especially if someone clueful shows me). I'm very good with technophobes (I did support at UDC after all), and very comfortable with general use MS products (office, 2000, xp, vista), and can definitely handle resetting a modem or firewall.

If you've got someone who's a better option, by all means let them have it, but if you're pressed, I'd be up for seeing if it worked for me (and if they were ok with purple-haired me).

I've been thinking hard about this one, but unfortunately I really dont have time to do much training.
I think I can limp it along for a little while until I can figure out something to do with the Dupont office.
Unfortunately it is the work office that I'm far more focused on, and dont have the time to go through long interviewing process with random people: perhaps I'm just too picky, but loads of bullshit on a resume and I just throw it away.

Seriously had someone list their expertise as having "worked with maxtor harddrives, seagate harddrives, western digital hard drives, dell laptops, dell desktops, hp laptops, hp desktops," and it just went on like this. At least they seemed to stop short of listing the brands of mice theyve used.

No worries. Good luck with the search for your replacement!
