The English Language and Scientific Process

I recently attended a "respectful workplace" course for my employment here. Aside from the fact that it was wholly unhelpful, providing no solutions directly but attempted to solve scenarios using the Socratic Method, it brought up an interesting scenario which I, unfortunately, had actually experienced ( Read more... )

I agree. How can you fully work as a team if half of your members speak another language? I have seen this in all of my jobs and at Sierra College. Whatever language is the majority is always spoken more than English. I failed a class because everyone was Russian and working in a group with them was difficult. I asked a number of times for them to speak in English, but they didn't.

In a work place, especially one as important as yours, it should be the language that everyone knows fluently.

Oh btw~

My friend Lori (you've met her) is getting married in Old Fair Oaks and the entire site is FILLED with chickens!!!!!!!!!! All shapes, sizes, male, female. It's like a giant chicken parade. I told her she was blessed by chickens. :)
