"Religious" doesn't always mean "ignorant." While many who blindly follow some order do as you say, there are many brilliant scientists (whom we owe a great debt) who have used their religious convictions as a reason to research and understand "God's universe".

We have to be careful not to create our on boxes to deal with these people who would treat the knowledge and understanding we value so.

I guess I painted a rather black and white view of the concept. I did not mean all religious people but a specific subset who build creation museums but it also could include those in science who are unwilling to re-examine concepts that they once held as absolute truth but are either partially or completely incorrect based on new data. I attributed a human failing to religion because of my own personal bias against religion ( ... )
