Well, I found it as a reference at Wikipedia for Ancient and Medieval Serbs. So I think Nikolaus Volrab is the title of the article/book that was used for the article on Wikipedia, or even the author. Chronica and Antiquiteten are probably Chronicle/s and Ancient. von den is probably like of because alot of the German, European names use those connector's for their surnames. So it would be Chronicles/History or something of Ancient.. you get the drift. It was probably published in 1556 in Budišin.
Yeah it is in 50 different sites (one being the Bagdad Museum in Iraq?) in the reference section saying just that. 50 sites, not one word less not one word more. I can't find anything about Nikilaus Volrab cause if you put it in any search you get, yup you guessed, it that line. I even tried puting in Budisin and got nothing more than Bonsai trees and Budi.
It's the weirdest and most frustrating thing. I'm going to keep researching it today a little, thank goodness I'm off work today.

I'd have to agree-that's about the gist of it. Darn it though, we had a software consultant from Koln, who spoke fluent German here for the past three weeks and he just left yesterday-he would have been the perfect person to interpret it.

Figures, day late and a penny short. LOL Yeah this whole family tree thing is driving me nuts. I suck with other languages so atleast I'm not an idiot at thinking it's German. LOL Thanks.
more genology weirdness...(?)ravenwolf15January 20 2006, 17:10:47 UTC
I'm reading a rather interesting book about the Halifax, Nova Scotia explosion of 1917. There was one of those personal accounts of a family by the name of Dungan. Who knows?? They may be distant relatives! I know, I go a little nuts whenever I come across the family names of McNeil or Mahoney! Tried researching my family tree a while back-only to discover that there were a few members hanging from it....

What's funny is I don't do much research on the Dungan side, someone else did a research on my great grandmother from dad's side and we've hit some road blocks on the Dungan name simply cause it's so common in Ireland still.
But when I do come across the name I always just wonder since I have located family on mom's side that we didn't know existed, we actually met by accident.
One of these days I may try to do more with the Dungan side.
