I was trying to write a story of around 100 words. I actually succeeded on later attempts, but my first guesstimate was over by about 80, and I liked it too much to cut it down. So for anyone who's interested, here it is.

It’s been an eventful week. Audrey’s first concussion, as she fell when she and Alan were roughhousing and landed on her head, leading to drowsiness, one spectacular vomiting incident and four hours in hospital. It’s getting into fete season again - every village, school and church is holding one, so it’s easy to keep the kids entertained of a weekend. It sucks for Alan of course, who’s working most weekends and doesn’t get to take them to such things on daddy days since they’re mid-week, but it does make things easier for me ( Read more... )

A couple of things done, though the closing of Blacks thwarted my attempt to get tent pegs to replace the ones Toni and Dan lost. I also found a local larp which has the potential to be either good fun or utter shit, but either way it’s a 3 course banquet in a museum a few miles from our house.
