Torchwood - Children of Earth: Initial Reaction.

So I think most people think this was the greatest thing ever. Well, I don't.

Yeah, I'm not really bothered. At all. I might just be too jaded or cynical, but I saw pretty much everything coming. And frankly, I was just mostly bored after the first episode.

I'll see what I think tomorrow - I've just marathoned all fives episodes in one go; I thought Day One was amazing, but frankly, I really expected a lot more from the show after that. It was just pushing emotional buttons to effect the greatest hurt possible as established by Joss Whedon, and that... that just doesn't work on me any longer. I didn't read any spoilers at all, and every single prediction I made after seeing the first episode unraveled itself to come true.

The story was a simple one and easily deciphered after Day One: In 1965, Britain gave children to aliens as a trade. Today, they are faced with the same decision and will probably will do again. The way they stretched that bit of story out over four more episodes was just long-winded.

Also, RTD and his Emo!LonelyGod!Complex(TM)? I'd tell him to fuck off, but again - not really bothered. *shrug*
