As Jan (rationality on his side) doesn't allow me to get a bigger cage, and i really really want to improve rat health and life, i adopted some "Foster" rats .

I considered getting a foster rat but I am not sure if Richard is going to like it. It's extremely hard to find people who want to take in abandoned rats especially when you consider how easy they can be bought in a store as babies. The shelters ask money for their care from adopters, and I understand why, but I also see why people who want a rat would skip that and instead buy them young.
I had wanted to start a sort of 'dating service' on line for rats (ask people what they're looking for and try to find the perfect match) but when I asked what people thought, they were sceptical. Now someone else did exactly that, and everybody applaudes her, forgetting I ever said anything. I got a bit sick of the rat forum I used to go to. People there are easily insulted and take a lot personally. I didn't like it for other reasons as well, so I silently went away. If you want the link anyway, I can give it to you.

As for the rats we try to find someone for: these are FREE rats, in some cases you even get a free CAGE with them. We also have A LOT of babies (born 25/11/5 and 27/11/5), and i'm afraid i won't even find someone for them. Our organisators are very motivated and will drive rats to everywhere if they find someone to adopt them. And even in these conditions, no one wants them :(
