A tattoo? I dunno if its a good thing. I mean, it lasts forever so if you don't like the way it looks you're stuck with it... I know there's a guy on campus who's not happy with his tattoo. I don't know why though, they're just numbers...

Also there's a lot that could go wrong with a tattoo, you could get ink poisoning or have an allergic reaction to it. And it can dry out your skin in that spot. If you do get one, make sure its a good place, and don't go alone (Scary biker people, yikes...).
