Minimum Requirements:

Job Description The Manager/Desktop Support manages a group of technicians (PCSS) responsible for technical support of 1000+ computer users (including all levels of management) throughout Washington University.
Responsibilities of the group include responding to trouble calls, assisting in recommendations and acquisition of hardware and software, PC/Server configuration and deployment, software deployment, desktop management, operating system updates and security updates.
This person in the position participates in planning of deployment methodology, conducts test pilots, and completes system documentation.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
· Develops, tests, and deploys software distribution packages, operating system updates, and security updates
· Evaluates and determines deployment methodology and conducts test pilots.
· Develops and maintains system documentation and deployment procedures.
· Develops managed desktop implementation strategy, collaborates with coworkers to determine policies to implement and maintains policy documentation.
· Ensures responses to technical support issues, working within standard operating procedures and policies.
· Returns calls from users promptly and responds to user inquiries with appropriate level of urgency
· Works with management to develop and documented SLAs.
· Follows up on all questions, problems, or suggestions from users.
· Documents problems and corrective procedures.
· Recommends enhancements to standard operating procedures and policies based on experience.
· Interacts with other technology groups to identify and correct problems.
· Uses team and project meetings to keep the team fully aware of managed desktop environment and package deployments and to support a team environment of continuous feedback and idea sharing.
