Last Friday, I killed ("sac'd") and systematically pulled apart six mice. For practice. I was looking for their lymph nodes, which I will eventually be expected to harvest from experimental mice. Yesterday I dissected two more mice for practice ( Read more... )

Honestly, as barbarism goes, this is a good channel- it's even probably healthier than suppressing it. Indeed, having a fascination with how the inside of something, like a mouse, works, is likely OK, as long as what fascinates isn't causing pain to figure it out. So, really, you seem like a very humane barbarian to me, if that helps.

I must confess, I found the title of your post next to the picture of Mashimaro a little disconcerting at first, but I'm good now. As for you being a barbarian...that could make our meeting with our Frankish ex-prof very interesting. Poor man doesn't know what he's getting into: he's trying having coffee with a cleaver-wielding, 2x4 toting, barbarian trio. ;-)
