I honestly thought I would cry a lot more than I did, but it was emotional nonetheless (of course). No doubt I will bawl when Part 2 comes out.
I can't remember everything, by any means, so I'm just going to recall what things I did happen to note and add later, maybe.
-Hermione's parents: I thought this part was so sad, but the way it was played out didn't seem particularly sad to me. She just... did it and left. But later whenever they were in the diner and she obliviated the Death Eater, you could definitely tell she was remembering her parents and reflecting on that incident.
-The Dursleys: I wished we'd seen more of them - I don't exactly remember what happens in the book but it's so much better than Vernon mumbling something about it being too dangerous there to Dudley, who face we don't even see, and a shot of Petunia in the car.
-The locket monster: ... ;_; Very theatrical; I guess movie-goers need some big monster? It was just... so big, and so MUCH. (Plus, omfg naked!Harry/Hermione. I CAN'T EVEN--)
Whenever I've thought about Hermione and her parents this evening I've been thinking about the scene when Bellatrix is cutting her up and her screams are echoing down to Ron and Harry. The bits at the Malfoy mansion -- I loved them.
Random note: THE TRIO. I loved the scene at the beginning when Ron comes to the Burrow (after they all take polyjuice) and Hermione hugs him, and then Harry runs up. IT'S JUST A HUG FEST. And these guys should have hug fests more often, because ffs all the tension they endure in this film... MOAR HUG FESTS, I SAY.
AND I CRIED FOR DOBBY. And maybe it was just because I had been primed for it, but whenever Voldemort opened Dumbledore's tomb I got a bit more emotional as well. And then when the screen went black, it was as if the theatre was holding its breath. AND END CREDITS. Such a perfect place to end it, though.
NOW I MUST GO REREAD THE BOOK.
