The person Brian has become in Framed is my favorite incarnation of him in any fic. Drowning in sensuality, vulnerable and open to Justin, ridiculously funny with his obsession over Justin’s soft pants and candies walnuts...where did your inspiration for the walnuts come from? When you were writing this did you already have the whole BYBR plot planned out, with Justin’s and Brian’s PTSD about to roar back to life?
Hi, and welcome! The candied walnuts were a new snack I'd stumbled on at the time, and when I like something, I tend to binge on it until I hate it. It's a bit of the extreme side of myself that helps me feel Brian's extremes. So, there was a canister next to me while I was writing it, and I decided to incorporate it. Brian was panicking at the time (though hiding it) because he was realizing that his sexual prowess had aged along with the rest of him, and in that panic, he made a crazy statement to Justin about candied walnuts to change the subject and give him time to get hard again

I read Framed in preparation for this discussion, but then wasn't on the internet after 3:00 PM. Wanted to make some comments. Loved Brian's car, as well as Brian Archiving his conversations with Justin to play again. A couple of my favorite lines: "Mmm, that was the best kiss I’ve ever had,” he tells you when it’s over. “I love you, Justin.” He grins, almost satisfied, “Yeah, you do.” Because you, Brian Kinney, finally own the sunshine. For dinner tonight, you’re having an exquisite fellatio appetizer, followed by Twink casserole topped with candied walnuts and a nice tossed salad with our exclusive House dressing.
You are so talented. Looking forward to reading this all again.
Hi, Dee Dee! No worries about timing. I don't really have a set time for these, anyone can join in anytime. The moments you like are popular ones. When Justin says "Yeah you do," to Brian, it serves to cement their bond for both of them. The finally own the sunshine line is the end result of me not imagining at the time I wrote this that it would become a series. ;-)
Hi. I only discovered QAF fanfic about 18 months ago and I'm pretty sure this series was one of the first long fics I read. I distinctly remember being so blown away by the quality of your writing with this particular fic, and also being instantly drawn into the story and literally not being able to put it down. It's been a while since I read this, (I think this may be my fourth time through) but I'm so glad you decided to do this discussion because I am so enjoying this re-read. Framed is in my opinion one of THE BEST fics I've read. I love the characterization you have given Brian and Justin, especially their sense of humour and how comfortable they are in their relationship with each other. I love the way Brian is finally able to just admit how much he loves Justin, but then shows it in his own typical Brian way. I loved the car - I thought that was such a clever idea of yours. This first chapter could actually be read as a standalone fic and be totally satisfying, but I am so glad that it's just the start of the BYBR journey

Hi, mb! Thanks so much for joining the discussion! When I reread Framed, I smile the entire time because their relationship has strengthened to the point of being able to handle the weird quirks they both have. They are secure with each other, and that frees them to be ridiculous with one another. I hope you'll continue on with us and thanks for your kind words about my writing!
