Is this thing still on?
So...I lied. I promised an update soon and it didn't happen. I don't even remember my last post that much...and a bunch has happened in the past X number of days since I last updated. So, I'm gonna try to do my best at keeping updates short and sweet and up to date, but here's the obligatory catch-up on Jesse's life (but most of you already know a good portion of it anyways).
Here's the biggest and best update: I have a girlfriend. Her name is Andrea Lowman and she's the best. She's a redhead and we all know how I have a big thing for redheads. She's a hottie. Most of you already know this, but I was Andrea's CA last year in Cone and we were good friends and that friendship thankfully developed into something that's awesome! (Disclaimer: we weren't interested in each other while I was her CA...I'm not a creepy old bastard, not in that way at least) Last update I said that I'd done something that I thought I'd never have courage to do and it was this: I professed my "like" for Andrea. The feelings were mutual but we decided to give everything some time and continued to talk for the next couple of months and some change and we became "official" on Thanksgiving. KICK ASS!!! It's so exciting!!! If you don't know Andrea then you're really missing out - she is the most amazing girl that I've ever met in my life and everything is so real and great with her and so effortless. Many many many thanks are to be said for Andrea being in my life and being my girlfriend!!! I'm so excited!!! Here's one of the coolest things she's ever said to me (though you and she might disagree): "Jesse, I think beer breath is sexy." Now you just try and tell me that this girl isn't amazing, won't you! Can't be done. I have a permanent smile on my face. Not only is she beautiful but she's an excellent singer and amazing artist too! Suffice it to say: Andrea is amazing in every single way.
What else has transpired since we last talked? (This will be jumbled) I went to the state fair with Andrea and beaucoup de friends and had an awesome time. Andrea and I saw Edwin McCain and he rocked, as always. I think that Alison and I are gonna go see Edwin McCain on December 31 at the Orange Peel in Asheville to ring in the new year, which is way exciting! I need Plumtree visitors!!! Caity is (quasi) planning to come to Plumtree in mid-December for a skiing/Plumtree hang outage trip so we're way excited about that too. I went to a football game at ASU one weekend. Boone is a very tailgate-friendly town - we hung out and drank beer in campus parking lots in Boone and the cops were cool with it. If something like that at UNCG they would have the freakin' national guard in there to regulate. I like college student-friendly towns. Andrea came up for a few days of her fall break and (re)met my parents and hung out for a couple days. She shot a gun for the first time in her life. She rode and piloted a 4-wheeler. Lotsa fun. I spent Thanksgiving with Andrea and her family in Raleigh. Good times were had, to say the least. I saw RENT. AWESOME!!! My brother finally started working at Sugar Mountain. So...everyone is invited for a skiing trip. He can get you free rentals...if you're with me, that is.
I finally finished my dental school application stuff. Hopefully I'll get an interview at UNC and get accepted. If not, I'm gonna go back to UNCG and get a masters in biology and then go from there. I miss learning so much and I can't stand to be away from school any longer. I really have fallen in love with my job as a dental assistant, though, so it gives me new hope for dentistry if I am indeed accepted. If I go back to UNCG then I might live avec Caity and Sally, which would be completely awesome. We'll see how everything plays out but I'm excited to get back in school and to be much closer to everyone!
Things I haven't done that I should do soon: hang out with Joe, Lindsey, Liz; talk to old friends that live close but still seem far away.
