While I'm flattered I'd love your perspective on what the hell I should do.

Really it all distills down to the lip gloss for me. Everything else, while flirtatious and with a definite spark could be rationalized away to being friendly and having fun.

But hippy girls from Oregon, rarely if ever wear makeup and they surely don't make a point of putting it on for a spur of the moment dinner with a friend. If she was a southern belle, I wouldn't have had a second thought.

So while it may seem a trivial thing, it is an action which sits out of place with the standard explanation via occams razor.

I've been involved with my share of committed women and I know full well that from where things are at, I could sleep with her if I play it right.

Unfortunately doing so would mean that she isn't the woman which I find so compelling so I have to play this on the up and up, which is decidedly not an area of romance in which I have extensive experience.

I've been here. As the woman, I ended a relationship to jump into the next one because the fireworks were so much more worth the doldrums.

i don't know

an honest answer
even if not what I was seeking

and

I am entirely in love with her
even if that means
I get my heart broken

at the end of the day
the juice
was worth the squeeze

You are my husband, four years ago. Exactly. Right down to the tone and poetry, my dear.

Look out, because someone like me is right around the corner and you'll miss these days when that woman catches you.

You'll see that it's sustainable when it becomes so. When those thoughts of future generations do not fade. When she falters, does something to ruin the mystique, uses an immature word, a crass phrase, and yet you find yourself forgiving her, and, as for her part, she stays the course, right back to the person you are wishing her to be, just blips of imperfection here and there, like butterflies, never settling anywhere, least of all the pit of your stomach. You will see a woman for who you want her to be, while seeing at the same time who she is, and you will see it all in the future tense as is already happening.

It might be this woman, it might be the next one. But it is certainly not the blondes, brunettes, and redheads you mentioned at the beginning of your post.

(Do you mind if I ask you how old you are, btw? I hope I haven't already asked this, but I may have.)

1) Don't think about it.
2) See above.

You don't have even half the freedom of choice you think you do. All you can do (if you're lucky) is enter the river, then work with the currents. From everything I gather though, the first chicks were rivers... but you are looking for a torrent, a flood, if that's the case, you won't have any choice at all, my brother.

god I hate you

not because you are wrong

rather because you are right
and it isn't what I want to hear

and

you are entirely correct

what I am looking for is a woman
who is not just a torrent
but a flood

and
despite the complications
I think she may be just that

and
well
you know me
so
we'll see

Life would be very, very dull without complications.

indeed
and while I excel at surmounting them
in this situation
I think it better
if I simply step back
and roll the dice

after all
the complications here
are hers to surmount
should she so choose
not mine.
