zzzzz.... Ouch!

Orthopedic appointment this afternoon for the foot. It didn't hurt much at all when I went to bed, but... been up since 3 am in pain. That seems to be the pattern, hurting like mad in the morning and tapering off by evening. The ibuprofens aren't doing all that much... I see some sweet prescription pain-killers in my near future.

A doctor friend told me that ibuprofen can be compounded with paracetamol (assuming that you have no problems with either) because the two operate in different ways; I have tried this, and found it very successful with headaches which neither one could touch on its own.

Also, might elevating the foot slightly while in bed help, or will that mean that all of the blood drains out, your foot goes gangrenous and falls off, and you get blood poisoning?

I was elevating it somewhat in the mornings (at my desk), but it's calmed down a great deal in the last 24 hrs. Never heard of "paracetamol"... so I looked it up. In the US we call it acetaminophen which is the main ingredient in Tylenol. I've usually taken one or the other, but never mixed them, maybe I'll try that in the future. Doc gave me 6 days worth of samples of celebrex (another nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory, one capsule per day). All seems to be going well, with the biggest challenge being - how to take a shower without getting the wrap on my foot wet!
