Ok. Calling ME and non-ME fans alike. You must tell me if I am really stupid because I feel pretty stupid right now.

There is this dialogue, right? Between Cortez and Vega. Arguing about the Mako vs. the Hammerhead (two infantry fighting vehicles for the non ME fans).

I didn't get the joke, but I did think they were flirting with each other. So I guess I got the vibe, if that was supposed to be the vibe? (And I do know about "bear" as slang, so... I dunno what my excuse is.)

I think I do tend to miss jokes anyway, though. I'm always laughing at completely different places than everyone else in films...

Hehehe, the part I love most about your comment (besides the fact that you didn't get it either): you think they are flirting! Honestly I'm not sure if that was intended by Bioware or not. Cortez is openly gay (speaks about a husband that was killed during a Reaper attack + you can romance him if you're a male Shepard) but Vega is bi at best, more likely straight (makes comments about girls, flirts with you if you're female Shepard -- with the caveat that if you ever flirt back he backs the fuck off. Which makes me think he's fronting big time, whether insecurity or otherwise. Annnnd now you know way more than you ever wanted to know about them. LOL)

HOWEVER, in my heart, they are so a couple. <3

NB: I know nothing about the fandom except the clip you just made me watch.

I did get it, but not right away. I missed the joke at first, until Vega said, "What's so funny?" when I realized I'd missed something and then immediately got what it was I'd missed.

*laughs!!* I do think most people get it. Just from my google search and when I ran to my friend going OMG DID YOU KNOW??? Alas.

Thanks for watching the clip and giving me your opinion. Especially since that's one of those bits of dialogue where you aren't even really looking at the characters speaking (until the very end when the player moves over to Vega).
