"Stop the world, I want to get off!"

Nov 03, 2004 15:56

I woke up this morning before my alarm went off, and lay in bed for 15 min. preparing myself for the worst. I'd tried to be pretty skeptical all along about kerry winning - whenever anyone would say "Ofcourse he'll win, he HAS to!" I was like..."I hope you're right, but I'm scared you're not..." I was trying to keep myself from having to be ( Read more... )

Eh...I think that Kerry/Edward fans should suck it up and deal that Bush is our president.

1. Whoever thinks we shouldn't be at war with Iraq is nuts, either the U.S. get blown apart by those animals that live there, or we kill them. I say second option. It does really suck that the soldiers are getting killed, but do you want to get attacked?
2. Kerry will raise the taxes and the rich will suffer. The rich work hard for their money...why should they have to pay for the immigrants and the poor for their medical, etc. crap?
3. His promise of getting everyone medical insurance is complete bs. How in hell is that ever possible? Medical insurance is like $20,000 per family...multiply that by the population of the U.S.

So not to bash, but it's over and done with. No more "moving to canada."

you realise it wasn't fucking IRAQ that attacked us, right? like you are aware that bush ATTACKED THE WRONG FOLKS?
and that we went in with far fewer troops than could possibly have done ANY good at all?
umm...and regarding what you said about "not bashing" maybe you should fact-check next time you pull something like this out of your ass again.

"Those animals that live there" are kids just like us, growing up in a scary world, and hearing all sorts of propaganda, exactly like us. To them, we are the animals. The americans are someone that they can blame for all their troubles, just as the iraqis are people we can blame for our troubles. They have a lot more troubles, and therefore a lot more to blame us for. If you, in your comfortable american life, can call those faceless kids "animals" what do you think they, in their much harder, much poorer lives, can think about us? There's an endless cycle of hate here, and that's what scares me so much. We can proubably never get rid of it compleatly, but we did have a chance to reduce it. But ofcourse, we bought into the story that they're blood thirsty animals, and so we don't want to stop hating them. This hate is what we're going to have to deal with in 30 years, when we're running the country.

I've been doing that same "chocolate makes it better" thing... I'm really worried about what's going to happen over the next 4 years... Especially considering what's happened these past 4... can it get any worse? I'm scared for that answer... ~Kappes
