Monitoring While Drilling - basically, I run an instrument package that sits behind the drill bit and tells us what direction it's going, what angle it's at, and what rock formation we're in. For the most part it's very banal, but the surroundings are very interesting (especially to my inner Knocker) and I get to travel throughout my beloved Rocky Mountain West.
