And my parents surprised me by taking the family out to eat where I proceeded to forget my ID and the mother bought beer in my stead and my goodness I hadn't expected that mug to be quite so large or my tolerance to have dropped so much that I was tipsy 1/4 of the way through a single beer

They keep running through worst-case scenarios, like how you shouldn't carry pens/pencils on you because they can be turned into weapons (even long hair can be used as a weapon... I keep mine short, but there's some new aids with really pretty hair) and on Monday I'm going to learn how to safely restrain someone manually, but I'm excited. It seems like a really interesting environment.

There's actually no formal dress code, which I found odd. But we went over things like dangly earrings and wearing shoes you can run in and conservatively, etc, etc. It was fun listening to it, because a nurse was in charge of the lecture so she could get really into all the scenarios of what would be potentially injured and how. I've been issued a sort of panic button so if something goes down I can press it and it'll alert everyone in the building as well as security.
It might have been medical histories and not IEPs, but I was told just the opposite. Because a lot of the patients might be admitted to an ER and the doctors there know that they'll require long term care, but if they're honest it might get delayed so they'll amp up the symptoms so the person can be admitted faster.
