A few months back when I asked folks to try using gender-neutral pronouns for me, a handful of folks asked me if I was also planning to change my name. At the time my answer was "not yet, but I'm thinking about it". And I thought about it for a month or so and got around to "I think I do but I'm still not sure". Hi Plymouth! (I think this will be easy for me, since I've seen you online far more than in person.) Happy New Year!

Cool. Last night I said "Christa" in some comment to you and thought, as I said it, that it was no longer how I primarily thought of you - in part because I see you online more often than in person. I almost paused then to ask what name you preferred. So this is a well-timed update.

There were actually multiple people at the party who asked me and it was the topic of some discussion but you were chatting with other folks at the time. People have been asking me for some time and it's nice to finally have a definitive answer as opposed to "ahh, I can't decide, *flail*!" as that tends to just confuse or annoy them.

I seem to have missed your original announcement. Sorry about that, but I did notice the name change. Is there a different email addy too or can I use the same one I've been using that starts with 'xta'?

No worries on the missed announcement. One of the vagaries of the social media age is that it's both easier and harder to get information out to the people who want it and who you want to have it.

Plymouth - romantic name for Americans but for those of us who live there: it is Salem.

Naming myself after an economy car is romantic? This is some new definition of "romantic" with which I am unfamiliar.
