so, i will probably pre-pack and see how much fits in whatever i will be taking with me. if there is extra room, i am thinking of taking a few more things.
I bought my waterproof hiking boots in France (at Decathlon) but I only use them when it really pours (or in the snow). Otherwise, I just wore regular hiking boots (Merrells) - they breath better.
You know, in my experience it's the books that take by far the most space / weight. And random crap like camera, toiletries, etc. Are you trying to fit everything you are taking in the carry-on?
i would but i can't. most books will come in digital form, so not too big. i also think i'll buy books on the way. (like, in russia, maybe.)
i was trying to stay with carry-on size but i obviously can't take liquids on the plane because of the regulations. so, we'll have to check *some* things in. i am trying to check the minimum amount and the things we either can't carry on the plane or something we'll miss the least 'cause with two transfers, i wouldn't be surprised if our luggage was lost.
so, do you think i should take sneakers then right away or is it better to buy them later? i had really bad mountain hiking experience with sneakers in ecuador. i guess on flat surface they may be useful if it's too cold for tevas.
