So far, Momo's counseling sessions have gone well. There were some rough patches at the beginning, but for the most part, the lower-ranked members of the 4th division who have overseen this delicate task have done well in teaching Hinamori relaxation techniques involving meditation or simple counting. Fortunately for her blood pressure, 3rd seat Iemura pronounced himself too busy for this task. But as of yet, she still hasn't found a 4th division officer she feels comfortable talking to on a regular basis. They've all been very nice to her, but perhaps the stiff sense of professionalism is what makes her keep her distance from them.
At the moment, Hinamori sits in the now-familiar room, waiting to see which officer will try to fix her today. Sitting on her pillow with her hands folded in her lap, she attempts one of the relaxation exercises to occupy her mind. What would really help her tension is a good night's sleep.

What a terrible first impression he's going to make! This is exactly the thought that occupies Hanatarou's mind as he dashes through the doorway of the 4th House, nearly skidding as he hurries down a narrow hall towards the rooms that have been sectioned off for counseling sessions. He tries to slow down as he'd rather not be the cause of injury (in the 4th Division- what a crime!), and by the time he nears the end of the hall he's panting away as if he's been running a marathon. Oh, but he has been running, all the way from the Academy way as he had been unsuccessful in finding the two students who had rescued him from the roof of the 11th Division House not too long ago to check and see how they are doing. Only then had he noticed that he was going to be late, having almost forgotten this extra duty that was assigned to him. It's better than clean up, but if he fumbles this, it might very well be back to the sewers for him!
"I'm sorry~!" comes his greeting as he nearly collapses at the doorway to the room Hinamori sits within, grabbing a hold of the doorframe in time to keep from faceplanting. "I-I'm really sorry, did you wait long?" he asks nervously. All at once he pauses and blinks, before scrambling to his feet and bowing in a more formal manner. "...Hinamori-fukutaichou! I hadn't been informed that I'd be working with you today! -not that it makes any difference, of course!" Bow, bow. Oh goodness, she's going to hate him now!

The greeting startles Hinamori, who looks up with wide eyes. Well, he's certainly a different sort than she's been accustomed to! She opens her mouth to set his nerves at ease that no, she hasn't been waiting long, but his next panic prevents her from saying a syllable. His over-compensation for the surprise of her person is a little disorienting, and Momo can't help but wonder if it actually /does/ make a difference somehow. Deciding to at least give him the benefit of the doubt, she raises her arms in front of her and waves them a little to try and stop him.
"It's all right, really! I just got here! Please don't worry, just have a seat and tell me your name." She smiles brightly in an attempt to help his nervousness, but suddenly feels a little strange. Did she just switch their roles or what?

Hanatarou almost misses Momo's words completely as he's too busy being flustered. He jerks his head up, blinking at the vice captain's gesturing. Oh, has he made a complete fool of himself already? He's supposed to be helping her, not stress her out! "Oh, um, right!" he nods, at least having been able to catch his breath while he was standing in one place. He steps over to the other cushion there in the room where he supposes he ought to sit, plopping down with a heavy sigh.
"My name is Yamada, Hanatarou. Seventh Seat of this division... although... you probably figured the latter... eheh heh..." He laughs nervously as he scratches the back of his head, then rests his hands in his lap as he looks down. "I'm glad you didn't wait too long, then, but again, I'm sorry. I should have been here before you." Glancing up again, he smiles weakly at her. "Um... this... is a bit awkward..." he admits.

"Yamada...Hana...tarou?" At first, Hinamori assumes he's teasing her. Who has a name like that? But then again, he doesn't seem like the type who'd make a joke like that. Momo is embarrassed for hesitating over his name like that, so feels the need to compliment it somehow. And yet the only thing that comes to mind is, "That name is...very...easy to remember!" Blushing with embarrassment now, she jumps on his admission instead. "Is this your first time doing this kind of thing, Yamada-san?"

It's all right. By now he's used to every reaction he can possibly get from people upon introducing himself. Hinamori's response is more of what he's accustomed to. Of course it's an easy name to remember! How can it not be? Hanatarou smiles though, so apparently he doesn't think much of the vice captain's fumble. Or maybe it's just because he's come to expect such things by now, which in that case, can be sad.
"Oh, um, well... yes, actually..." Hanatarou says as he looks back down at his hands. "That probably doesn't help you much, does it? I'm supposed to be helping you, but the truth is, I really don't have any idea where to start..." He looks very contrite as he admits this too, but just as quickly he brightens as he thinks of something.
"M-maybe if you tell me how things have gone with your other counseling sessions, then I can figure it out from there!"

Rather than worry or put Momo off, the fact that Hanatarou is inexperienced actually relaxes her. It means he probably won't have that stiff professionalism that she dislikes in the others. "Well," she begins, looking thoughtful, "They usually ask me things like how I'm feeling or if I've been sleeping. And if I have, they ask if I've been having any strange dreams. To help me sleep, they've been trying to help me relax more. It's been working but I'm still not sleeping that much." One look at the fairly permanent dark circles under her eyes would testify to that.

The Shinigami medic listens with rapt attention, and one could almost be certain that if he had a pencil and paper he'd be taking down notes. "Ah, I see," Hanatarou nods. It sounds easy enough. He would probably be overjoyed to know that just his presence and being himself is helping Momo relax without any real effort.
"Well then... how... how have you been, fukutaichou...?" he asks, deciding he should start somewhere. At least his own nerves seem to have calmed a bit as well.

Hinamori nods as if that had been the right question to start off with. "Well...I've been worried about Hitsugaya-kun. I think he's pushing himself too hard to get better and I'm afraid it's because of me." Toying with her fingers in her lap, she adds, "And Kira-kun is still upset with me, I think. About me speaking with Aizen-taichou on that mission. We had a fight, and we haven't talked since, even since he and Hitsugaya-kun got hurt."

Hanatarou has only heard basic things regarding the missions, never the details, and especially not the affects in the aftermath. Slowly he nods as he continues to listen, half wondering if he should really be told such things. Well, he's the counsellor, so he supposes it's his responsibility.
"Oh... well, Hitsugaya-Taichou is strong, and we've been checking on him. For certain Unohana-Taichou won't let him do anything drastic until he's confirmed to be well enough." The young Shinigami smiles reassuringly. "You've spoken with him, haven't you? Has he told you anything?" He looks a bit worried as Momo mentions Izuru, and again he looks down. This counselling stuff is hard! "...what exactly did you and Kira-fukutaichou fight about?" Or, oh, maybe he shouldn't have asked that! That's just asking to reopen old wounds! Bad Hanatarou, bad! You're supposed to be making her feel better, not worse!

Scratching her head, Hinamori realizes she doesn't really remember what she and Hitsugaya talked about on that visit. There was nothing particularly groundbreaking, just work and the mission and promising to bring him a book... "He didn't really tell me anything," she finally replies, "But it's just the way he is. He doesn't like feeling useless; it drives him crazy. I know he's been worried though. This whole counselling thing was his idea in the first place."
As for the second question, she does fidget a little before forming her reply. "Well, it's the same thing that Hitsugaya-kun was worried over. I saw Aizen-taichou on a mission and I talked to him. They were...angry at me for that." The empty pause following the simple statements suggest that's all she's intending to say about the incident without further questioning.

Well, that doesn't help him very much. Hanatarou ohs softly, giving a nod as his gaze slips downward towards the floor again. He folds and unfolds his hands nervously, wondering where he's supposed to go with this now. "Um..." Finally he raises his head to look at Hinamori, and he smiles weakly. "They might be angry, but then that's only because they're concerned, I'm sure. While I don't know the other captains and vice captains very well, I've heard that some of you have known each other even before gaining such ranks, and that's why you're so close. But not only that..." He looks down again, but the smile doesn't fade with it. "...it's... well... it's natural for comrades to be concerned about each other, isn't it? We're all on the same side, regardless of divisions..."
He knows enough of what had happened regarding Sousuke Aizen to know better than to push that subject on Hinamori. True, he's curious now as to what exactly the girl spoke about with the former captain, but he had been warned about Hinamori's mental state regarding the man. Perhaps in time, as Hanatarou's concerned for the young vice captain.

Hinamori nods slowly as she listens to Hanatarou's suggestions. While it makes sense to certain degrees, some things just don't fit. Since she isn't about to figure it out on her own anytime soon, she shares her thoughts. "You're right; that's how it feels with Hitsugaya-kun. He was really upset, but he forgave me. That's how I knew he was worried. But Kira-kun...I'm confused about why he was so mad, since he still won't talk to me. I mean, I guess it could be concern, but then why is he acting so different? I know it's gotta be hard for him, since he's missing his taichou, too. But I can't imagine Kira-kun taking that out on his friends in anger. It's not like him. Maybe it's me who should be more worried about him..." The last she adds as an afterthought, with a tone of enlightment, as if she's never had that thought until speaking it just now. Good job, Counselor Yamada, look what you did!

Hanatarou would be ecstatic! ....if he knew what he'd done exactly. However, hearing that Hinamori sounds much more positive in tone than she had a while ago, the Shinigami medic is much relieved, and it shows clearly on his face.
"I don't know what exactly you and Kira-fukutaichou spoke about when you fought, but... well, yes... that'd be understandable since you're both in a similar position..." He treads this ground carefully, knowing it to be a touchy subject. "I think it would be a good idea to support him in that though! Ne? I... I shouldn't assume too much, but I would think that... well... it's a frustrating thing, what the both of you have gone through.... and recent events things haven't been helped...." He scratches his head as he looks over at Hinamori awkwardly. "...but... it's better to go through things knowing there are others there for you, and knowing that you don't have to go through anything alone, isn't it?"
