Persepolis

Persopolis opened in Eugene at our local art-house theater. It's a fantastic movie, and a thinker of a movie. But it's sneaky, because it doesn't have the trappings of a thinker kind of movie, it's just that I find myself still thinking about it. Highest recommendations from both myself and goteam as well as all of the Iranians I know who have seen it

I saw Marjane Satrapi on Colbert. Movie looked interesting. I wonder if it's showing anywhere in Lawrence. Looks like not. Boo.

Blargh. Not only is this not showing actually *near* me, I can't find a single city in my state showing it. It doesn't help that Google's movie search doesn't actually let you search a whole state, so you just have to guess, though. In fact, as far as I can find, the closest showings are Atlanta or DC. Oy vey.

(Ok, clearly Google's theater database is the wrong tool for this... going directly to the websites of the two closest arty-est theaters shows they're *both* planning on showing it at some unspecified point in the future. I guess I'm just early.)
