Yaz

End of my first month on Yaz.  I just took the last "active" pill two nights ago.  I will say, my symptoms definitely didn't go away completely, but it helped.  I really do think it helped.  I wonder how bad these next few days will be while I'm between packs.  Will it be even worse because it's a more sudden drop-off?  At least it will be shorter ( Read more... )

I think it's so crazy that they make such important medication so expensive. I'm not sure what it is in my country, but its probably around the same, if its available. That's so good it's worked for you. I have been debating whether I should go on birth control again or not but lately it's been so tempting.

$65 isn't too bad, compared to some of my other meds. But I will call today and ask for samples. It looks like I will not have new insurance coverage until November 1, and then I'll have a deductible to get through. At least the policy year is July - June, not January - December. This is Maryland's "public option" policy, by the way, without which I would be one of those who fall through the cracks.....

YAZ is the only thing that has helped me! Ever since i began taking it, my symptoms are basically non-existant..I have had no negative side effects, although my friend started taking it and immediately developed thrush from apparent yeast found in the pill. My doctor recommended taking probiotics and or acidophilus to prevent any yeast growth, which could lead to yeast infections, thrush, etc. Other than that, no problems! I love it, and my only worry is when i decide it is time for me to get pregnant, i will have to stop the pill and my PMDD will come back!

Tell you what, I didn't refill it this time (being in between insurance coverage), and WHAM do I feel the difference! I only took it one month so far, and I still had mild PMS, but it definitely didn't rise to the level of PMDD for once.

Yeah, eat yogurt, the other thing my old gyn suggested when I had that problem on bcp years ago was to douche with vinegar-water to correct the pH
