Well that was reasonably good fun as a silly romp, but it certainly wasn't up to the standard set by the first two excellent episodes

I liked the "filler." It helps with the rhymthm of the season, I think. It gives me pause and a moment to breathe. It's good. :-)

Plus, it's fun to see how many times they can kill poor Rory.

It lacked cohesion a bit for me, almost like two different stories, first on the pirate ship and then the spaceship.

Well, next week is going to be the Gaiman episode but "Doctor's Wife" isn't inspiring.
