My Life In Games

Dec 24, 2007 17:49

Last week Catie's friends Erica and Frannie came to visit, but I was stuck at work and missed out on the fun. Usually, that's something that's not worth mentioning in here, BUT they played Rummy and I WAS STUCK AT WORK! I love Rummy! The week before, there was a semi-big family gathering at my parents place with Nana and Pap, Josh and Holly, my ( Read more... )

I definitely have more patience than the average game player, so long games like Monopoly, Risk, and Axis and Allies don't bother me. My mom was watching me and my dad play Axis and Allies and she would just sigh and say "the game that never ends." And I'd be like "who said we wanted it to end?"

And as for your complaint about games with money, maybe I like Monopoly because I'm so much better with it in that game than I am with real money.

Life. Why would I enjoy this game? My sister used to love it, but the only thing it has going for it is the spinning wheel (I like the sound it makes, haha). Otherwise it's like, oh I had another baby girl, I have six kids now. Greaaat. And you're right, Uno is only good for kids. I wasted too much of my childhood on that crappy game. Why didn't somebody introduce me to more "real" games when I was young. I feel cheated.

My ADD denies me the ability to play monopoly and other patience requiring games.

Oh man. We played that last night and it was great. That's probably the one game where I most feel I'm using a lot of strategy but it never ends up getting me anywhere.

I remember in Sophomore year of college I went to visit Phil at SU one time and we played Cranium. It just went to show how N*Sync Phil and I are. He had to mime a famous person and he's like "How will Dustin ever get this one?" he puts his hand up to his mouth and wiggles his fingers. Two seconds later I yelled "Louis Armstrong!" I think we even won that game!

Yes I remember that! With games like that you need to know your partner really well. We have always been a good team in those sorts of games. Also, we are an excellent SEQUENCE team, though that may just have to do with us both being good players.
