Wikimedia stats: pages views per country

Interesting statistics about which language versions of Wikipedia are accessed in various countries.

Unsurprisingly, the official language of the various countries tends to do well (if there is just one); also fairly unsurprisingly (since it's probably the most complete), the English version tends to do ( Read more... )

When I was in Dublin I was surprised that there were a lot of polish restaurants.
There seem to be quite a lot of polish people there.

Poles are now the largest ethnic minority group in Ireland. There are more native-speakers of Polish there than of Irish, and there was to-do recently when one of the municipal authorities in Ireland put up advisory signs in the parks that were in English and Polish only.

Lots of Polish people in the UK too, and there's at least 1 Polish deli in every town now, and an area in every supermarket with imported Polish items. Non-polish people seem to have taken to the bread and beer from Poland.
