You know, there are some places that just aren't fun to hang out at with your mother. Like Khao San Rd in Bangkok, for example. oh no... i can just imagine it. poor you! enjoy the beach, i loved it around there. i'll be interested to hear how it's going now since the tsunami. it was hit pretty badly there, huh?

Hey, sorry for the late reply.
I didn't see any effects from the tsunami around Krabi or Railay beach. I'm not sure if it escaped most of it, or if it has just been cleaned up.

I saw a picture of what Koh Phi Phi looked like after the tsunami -- buildings seemed to be intact, but all the contents had been thrashed about.

The beach was nice though... climbing, kayaking, finding the hidden lagoon. :-)

i think it must have been cleaned up and rebuilt or something as i remember hearing that krabi and railay had been hard hit.

i'll bet it was lovely there!

Oh yeah... definitely good to be home. Being away really makes me appreciate little comforts more -- like a heated home, comfortable shower, space to myself, etc. There are difficulties to living with parents for sure, but it's nice to be around family too.

Goa? I'm jealous! Never got there when I was in India. I loved Kerala though. How long is your trip?
