Friends;

I'm a petty man. So, for what it's worth, I'd just like to say that I was into Against Me! before Ben Lee covered their entire new album, barely a month after it's original release.

I fucking hope ben lee dies, remember when he got hit with a bottle? classic, Strange that they hit him, considering he has his head up his own arse.

oh, i dedicated a journal entry to that episode too. Again - petty.

but, yes, he's a cultural phenomenon, he is. it's funny reading the other comments on his blog by other ben-lee-fans... they're so delightfully/annoyingly naive.

man, you can't forget the earnest emphasis:

"I bet Ben Lee's version is more important."

But I'm really digging this.It's like The Grey Album, but with people who aren't as good and mixed in the other direction.

ha i heard that on the radio the other day and pondered your reaction...it seems like a strange thing to do to me. like, cover a song- sure, at a live gig- maybe, but the whole album. wtf.

He really needs a good friend that has the confidence to say "NO, BEN - NO" whenever he comes up with these hairbrained schemes.

Ah Tom, it's the cry of the indie kid - "but I liked them before they were famous".
It's a fact of life. The only things certain in life are death, taxes, and Ben Lee covering the album of a band you like.

Pfft! Those indie kids are merely ripping off the tru-punx like myself. How many indie kids can say they first uttered the "I liked them before they were famous" phrase when they werein grade 6? I can. Pretty Fly (For A White Guy) was the song - The Offspring was the band i stopped listening to resultantly. Tom Fairman - Petty for 10 years now.
