It has recently come to my attention that a list of the 100 Greatest Americans has been put out, and that it will eventually be wheedled down to one all-time "Greatest American." I don't take issue with that, but the list itself (nominations by actual Americans) outrages me. Here it is

Hey, interesting trivia, apparently Armstrong carried a piece of the 1903 Wright Flyer with him on the lunar lander. Might just be the national park service blowing smoke up me arse, but I'd like to believe it, hehe.
I have to nominate John Marshall and Richard Feynman, and recommend keeping the Wrights, Tesla, Sagan, and Franklin.
Edison, on the other hand, basically ran a sweatshop and stole everyone else's ideas (here's a nice little article: http://www.flyingmoose.org/truthfic/tesla.htm). On second thought, maybe he does embody the ideals of America ;D
